We are seeking a dedicated Commis Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team in a fine dining environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in kitchen operations, demonstrate discipline, and be eager to learn and grow in a structured culinary setting.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist senior chefs in prep, mise en place, and basic cooking tasks across sections to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

  • Execute dishes consistently, following recipes and presentation standards; apply fundamental cooking techniques accurately.

  • Support tastings, trials, and recipe development; show initiative to learn new skills and techniques.

  • Maintain clean workstations, follow HACCP and food safety guidelines, and handle ingredients safely.

  • Help monitor stock, rotate ingredients, minimize waste, and support portioning accuracy.

  • Collaborate with the kitchen team, learn from senior chefs, and maintain discipline under pressure.

  • Deliver dishes on time, adapt to special requests or high-volume periods, and maintain efficiency during service.

  • Represent the restaurant’s standards through craftsmanship, consistency, and attention to detail. Support special events, tastings, and promotional activities as required.

Job requirements

  • Previous experience as a Commis Chef in a fine-dining or high-end restaurant.

  • Strong foundation in basic cooking techniques, including sautéing, roasting, grilling, knife skills, and plating.

  • Excellent time management, organization, and attention to detail.

  • Strong teamwork, communication skills, and ability to follow instructions accurately.

  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

  • Eagerness to learn, develop culinary skills, and grow within a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Eligibility:

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have the necessary documentation to work in Florida (e.g., U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or valid work visa).
